Preschool & Kindergarten

in-Person Program

“The heart of the Waldorf method is that education is an art-it must speak to the child's experience. To educate the whole child, it’s heart and it’s will must be reached, as well as the mind.”

- Rudolf Steiner

What Makes our Program Special?

A Rich Weekly Rhythm

In Waldorf education having a consistent rhythm for the children that supports them throughout the day is very important. Our rhythm has a balance of in breaths and out breaths. Having consistency in our weekly and daily activities helps instill trust within the child with knowing what is to come. At Fern Village school our rhythm consists of circle time, stories, gardening, cooking, beeswax/clay, painting/crafts, nature, creative play, and more!

Gardening & Backyard Farm Program

Something that makes our Early Childhood program different than most is that we have a gardening and backyard farming program for littles. In this program the children will learn about the importance of growing your own food, tending to plants and animals, and they will learn about the many gifts that come from nature. Part of the child’s daily life at Fern Village School will be caring for our garden, plant dying, tending to our animals, and more.

Together in Community

Festivals and events are a large part of the Waldorf school community. Festivals in Waldorf schools are brought throughout the year as turning points in the seasons. There are two fall festivals, a winter festival, and spring time. During these reverent times of gathering throughout the year the parents have a chance to bond and connect as well as see what their children have been working on at school. We also hold parent evenings throughout the year to learn more about where your child is at developmentally and ways to better support them.

We would love to hear from you!
